Further change for better in Kashmir’

Jammu, Apr 9: Maintaining that there is a discernable change in Kashmir situation marred by over three decade long turmoil, Union Home Minister Amit Shah today said that situation will further change for better in near future.
Talking to a joint delegation of different organizations of Kashmiri Pandits who called on him at Union Capital today, Shah said it is a trailer and full picture has yet to come while reiterating the Modi Government’s resolve to restore total peace in J&K where people of different sections can live in complete harmony.

Showing concern over the encroachment of the land and property of displaced people in the Valley and that of their shrines and temples, Shah assured the delegation that the entire land whether that is the personnel property of migrants or their religious places will be restored.

He said no body who has encroached the land of shrines and temples of the displaced people will be spared how influential he may be.

Shah asked the members of the delegation that they should prepare a complete data of such land all over the Valley and furnish the same to Government so that the action under law will be taken against the land grabbers and the same is restored to its owners or the religious bodies.

Shah informed the delegation that besides the restoration of encroached land all other problems of the displaced Pandits will be solved as the Modi Government is fully abreast with the same. He said the oppressors will not be spared at any cost and rule of law will definitely prevail.

The Home Minister assured the delegation that after the elections are over in the country and the Model Code of Conduct ends, the things will smoothly move in a good direction and all the issues of the displaced people will be settled with the passage of time.

Shah also assured the delegation that all steps will be taken to ensure fool proof security of employees working in Kashmir as well as minorities putting up in the Valley. The delegation discussed various issues confronting displaced Pandits with Home Minister and said that meeting was held in a cordial manner as Shah showed concern over the plight of displaced people and he listened to every problem in detail.

The delegation pressed the Commission that the M Forms procedure is cumbersome and alleged that M Forms is a deliberate attempt to denial of voting right to the displaced people from Valley. The delegation said that this way the migrants intending to participate in democratic process by casting their vote get totally discouraged.
The delegation demanded that polling booths for migrants be created on relief zones where their data is available. The delegation said that the migrants who are bonafied voters can cast their vote at Relief Zone and for their identity one employee of concerned zone can be deputed at the polling booth for their identification.

The Election Commission authorities however said that they will discuss the issue further and take the opinion of political parties on this issue too. Besides, the representatives of different KP bodies including BJP, the party general secretary for J&K, Sunil Sharma was also part of the delegation.

It may be recalled that it is the second meeting in last one week of the Kashmiri migrants with Election Commission on the issue of M Forms.
